By this all people will know that you are my disciples
The Economist writes an insightful summary of recent splits and reunions within the Church.
It may be useful to consider Jesus’ words:
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Questions for further thought:
How much has multitudinous schism within the body of Christ compromised our witness to unbelievers?
How much has the diversity of the visible church enabled the pervasive spread of the gospel message, the Good News of God’s kingom?
How can we remain true to orthodoxy, yet celebrate in Christian brotherly love the diversity of God’s work in the world?
